Get your own limited edition SAAB mug

Not everything in life is for sale! These mugs, for example… Our new project is about these mugs, which we’d like to offer to you, our readers…. in exchange for an article about your lives with SAAB. Tom wrote about this earlier this week as well, but we obviously are looking for stories from all around the world!

SAAB is really more than a car, it can in fact be a lifestyle. The slogan “SAAB – more than a car” fits therefore perfectly. You may know that the slogan is actually a trademark owned by Orio AB, but we received permission to use it for this campaign. Thank you Orio Germany!

Before we place the order for this limited edition, we’d like to ask what mug design you’d find the most attractive. We have selected some special and very “Saabish” themes from SAAB advertisements from the year 2005, but would like you to help us choose. The following designs are available:

Option 1: Tested on the computer…
SAAB very early on used computers in the vehicle design process. The Swedes were pioneers here; the motif reminiscent of a video game from the ‘80s. A SAAB convertible is shown on the right side of the monitor.

Option 2: Side impact protection 1947
As early as in 1947, SAAB introduced the side impact protection with the Ursaab. No joke, but the 25 cm space between the doors were already first design for a safety impact zone. Unbelievable!

Option 3:…see things differently!
Green or blue? Both things can be seen in this picture. “…see things differently”… Detect nuances. SAAB’s had the best aerodynamics, the greatest turbo’s, the funkiest cup holders, originated from aircraft construction. Built for people who recognize the subtle difference.

What design to pick?
I think the choice is pretty difficult, but you have a week to make up your minds by selecting your preferred option in the poll at the bottom of Tom’s original article.
We’ll then get the most popular one into production, a campaign made possible by the sponsors of our blog. Thank you!

So how can you get your own limited edition SAAB mug?
We’d like to get your SAAB stories. How has SAAB become a way of life for you?
In order to qualify, send your stories (between 400 and 700 words in length) in Word or Open Office format. To make things even easier, you can use the English, German, Swedish or Dutch languages (we’ll be publishing in English and/or German). The story should come with at least one corresponding picture (ideal size 1280×850, JPG-format). For each published article, we’ll send you one of these exclusive and limited edition SAAB reader mugs – as long as supplies last. Please do not forget to your postal address when submitting.
